Why I Don’t Do Everything in Tech — And Neither Should You
Not all IT professionals are created equal, just like not every doctor can perform every procedure. When we all play to our strengths, everybody wins.
“IT”, or Information Technology, is a catch-all term, but let’s be real, it’s a bit like saying “doctor.” You wouldn’t ask a pediatrician to do open-heart surgery, right? In the same way, just because someone’s great with computers doesn’t mean they’re the go-to for every tech problem under the sun. I run into this all the time: people assume that if I’m experienced in one area of technology, I’m an expert in all of them.
My lane is helping businesses use technology to run smarter and grow faster. That’s where I deliver the most value. If you need a system to automate your business, secure your data, or bring your website to life, I’m your guy. However, even as someone known for my experience, I don’t pretend to do everything.
I know my strengths, and I know when to bring in someone who specializes in the thing you actually need. Could I figure it out? Sure, with enough time. But that’s time (and cost) most folks aren’t looking for. That’s why I hire and partner with people who are even better than me at the things I don’t want to spend hours on.
So if you come to me with a tech question, I’m happy to point you in the right direction or give you an honest answer. But when it’s time to roll up sleeves and get the job done, trust me when I recommend someone else. That’s not passing you off, it’s making sure you get the best help possible. When we all play to our strengths, everybody wins.
Curious how the right tech solution could transform your business? Let’s talk, or let me connect you to someone who can help you win.
